Well done the winners

We have a fantastic opportunity from Landsec to showcase the Nurse Appeal film five consecutive times on the Piccadilly Lights screens on the evening of May 21st (exact time to be confirmed).

In addition to the screen showing, we are planning to share the video on our social media channels and publish photos of it being displayed on the Piccadilly Lights.

Here's a link to the film: https://next.frame.io/share/d97bdcb2-8cff-447a-8559-2d91616b52d8/view/23fb9887-0ac1-457d-a447-74fe95313b56. You feature at around 1 min 10! We require any feedback on this by the end of the day this Sunday, May 11th. I'm so sorry for the short notice, it was a last-minute opportunity that arose.

Please send any feedback to secretary@skeparkinsons.org.uk

Dear Members,

For your information here is an email received by Arthur.

Dear Arthur Hookway,

You recently signed the petition “Increase funding for people with Parkinson’s and implement the "Parky Charter"”:https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/713714

On 1 May, MPs debated Parkinson’s Awareness Month, in Parliament.

This was a Backbench Business debate led by Graeme Downie MP.

Health and Social Care Minister, Ashley Dalton MP, responded on behalf of the Government.

During the debate, MPs discussed the "Parky Charter."

Explainer

Backbench Business debates give MPs an opportunity to debate a topic of their choice, and receive a response from the Government.

They are a way to:

  • raise awareness of an issue

  • seek to influence government policy

  • put the views of backbench MPs, political parties, and the Government on record.

They do not generally involve a vote on a particular action or decision.

See our visual explainer on how these debates work.
